Elimination of Unemployment
1930 — elimination of unemployment. One of the key achievements of the socialist state that entered world history.
Preparation and Launch
On April 12, 1961, one of the most significant events in human history took place — the first human spaceflight. It was performed by Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin aboard the Vostok-1 spacecraft, launched in the USSR.
The Flight
The flight lasted 108 minutes. The maximum orbital altitude was about 327 kilometers above the Earth's surface. During the mission, Gagarin observed the Earth, checked the spacecraft systems, and maintained communication with Mission Control.
After completing one orbit around the planet, the spacecraft began its return. At an altitude of about 7 kilometers, the cosmonaut ejected and landed by parachute near the city of Engels in the Saratov region.
Significance
The first human spaceflight was a tremendous scientific and technological achievement and an important milestone in space exploration. It proved that humans can survive and work in zero gravity and outer space.
This event also became a key moment in the space race between the USSR and the USA. After it, space research began to develop even faster, eventually leading to achievements such as the Moon landing and the creation of orbital stations.
